Overview

NEU is a research unit for the environmental applications of nanotechnology to produce and characterization of nanomaterials and obtain innovative applied research outputs from the unit in the field of environmental nanotechnology to develop solutions to the Egyptian aquatic environmental problems, identify endemic pathogens of the liver and kidneys in the water environment, and produce more effective materials in treating the biological and chemical pollution of the aquatic environment to reduce the spread of diseases and provide safe and clean water sources.

Nanosensors

To detect the ultra-low concentrations of biological and chemical pollutants in tested water samples with selective capture.

Nanoabsorbents

To remove toxic metals from wastewater to provide clean and safe water sources.

Excellence and leadership in nanotechnology research with its applications in the environmental field for monitoring and removal of endemic pathogens and chemical pollutants from the aquatic environment.

The Nano-Environmental unit (NEU) at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute works on the synthesis and characterization of many nanomaterials and nanocomposites that can be applicable to provide clean and safe water.
