Research Fields
My researches focuses on testing different biological methods for reducing the pollution level in freshwater systems. Isolation and identification of fungal species from water, sediment and soil samples. Studying freshwater-derived fungi as bioremediators tools for many pollutants. Investigating filamentous fungi as sources of bioactive compounds. Proficiency in experimental design (for laboratory and field study), physiological analysis. Water quality analysis (biotic and abiotic factors). Studying the role of the freshwater snails as bioindicators for environmental toxicity, detection and identification of infective stages of new parasitic worms.

Spatial Distribution of Polychlorinated Biphenyls in Some Watercourses: A Study on Water Quality, Risk, and Effect on Macroinvertebrates
ScopusResearch Type: Research article | Domain: Environmental pollution and remediation
Publish Type: Published
Publish Date: 2025-11-11
Continued monitoring of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) residues in inland watercourses contributes indirectly to Sustainable Development Goal 14 by preserving aquatic biodiversity and ecosystems. Therefore, the current work aims to monitor PCBs in water courses of Giza, Al-Qaliobiah, and Al-Gharbiah...
Biological Diversity Associated with Pesticides Residues in Certain Egyptian Watercourses
ScopusResearch Type: Research article | Domain: Environmental pollution and remediation
Publish Type: Published
Publish Date: 2025-05-09
The aquatic environment has been contaminated by pyrethroids and triazole pesticide applications, which pose serious health risks to the aquatic ecosystem and human beings. Therefore, the current study aims to evaluate water quality parameters, fungal diversity, and distribution of snails and aquati...
Impacts of Climate Change on Water Quality using GIS Technique in Water Courses at Egyptian Delta Governorates
ScopusResearch Type: Research article | Domain: Environmental pollution and remediation
Publish Type: Published
Publish Date: 2023-11-01
The present work aimed to study the water quality of six Delta Egyptian governorates using ArcGIS maps. Compared to winter, water temperature was higher during summer in all selected governorates. Dissolved oxygen (D.O.) was higher than in summer during winter in all selected governorates. The maxim...
Metallothionein expression in Aspergillus exposed to environmentally relevant concentrations of heavy metals at different pH levels
ScopusResearch Type: Research article | Domain: Environmental pollution and remediation
Publish Type: Published
Publish Date: 2021-05-04
Heavy metal pollution represents a health threat. Many fungal species are capable of tolerating various heavy metals, especially if they are isolated from a contaminated watercourse. One of the mechanisms by which fungi can sequester certain heavy metals is synthesizing stress proteins. The aim of t...
Pollution by organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticides residues in watercourses of some Egyptian governorates with reference to the distribution of macroinvertebrates
ScopusResearch Type: Research article | Domain: Environmental pollution and remediation
Publish Type: Published
Organization: w
Publish Date: 2020-08-12
The paper reports an assessment of the quality of some water courses located in three Egyptian governorates by investiga tion of organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticides residues, and the distribution of macroinvertebrates. Water and sediment samples were collected from the investigated...
