Research Fields

My specialty is pathology, with a focus on techniques for processing tissue samples for conventional and immunolabeling electron microscopy (EM) as well as cells using my innovative agarose cell block technique in processing cell samples. I have over 30 years of expertise in ultrastructural pathology of the liver and kidney, particularly in hepatic schistosomiasis, viral hepatitis, and their complications, including liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and carcinoma. My work also extends to kidney diseases, urinary carcinoma, and evaluating the efficacy and toxicity of therapeutic treatments using EM.
