GAHAR recognizes the institute as a distinguished national model in implementing quality and health governance systems.

In a pioneering scientific achievement—the first of its kind in the Arab Republic of Egypt—and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director and Chairman of the Board of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI), the Center of Excellence for the Biobank at the Immunology Department of TBRI has obtained the first official accreditation for a biobank in Egypt from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC).
