Dear Esteemed Guests, It is with great honor and sincere pleasure that I welcome you to the TBRI Annual Scientific Conference 2020, which will take place virtually from December 10 to 12, 2020, under the esteemed patronage of H.E. Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the leadership of Prof. Wafaa Kandil, President of the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute. Held under the theme “Research & Clinical Practice,” this conference brings together an outstanding assembly of national and international experts from the fields of medicine, biomedical sciences, and public health. Renowned speakers from Egypt, Germany, Portugal, Spain, China, and the United States will contribute to a robust scientific program comprised of eleven specialized webinars hosted on the Zoom platform. This virtual gathering aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, promote the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical solutions, and explore innovative strategies to tackle current and emerging health challenges. Topics will span a wide range of disciplines, including hepatology, gastroenterology, nephrology, urology, nanotechnology, biotechnology, tissue engineering, and endemic parasitic diseases, with focused discussions on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the implications of its second wave. About Conference

Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) will hold its annual scientific conference, TBRI 2020, from December 10–12, 2020, chaired by Prof. Wafaa Kandil.

Held under the theme “Research & Clinical Practice,” the event brings together leading Egyptian and international experts from countries including Germany, Portugal, Spain, China, and the U.S. The conference will feature eleven virtual symposia via Zoom, addressing recent advances in hepatology, gastroenterology, nephrology, urology, and emerging fields like nanotechnology, biotechnology, and tissue engineering, alongside a spotlight on COVID-19 and its second wave.

The conference aims to bridge the gap between biomedical research and clinical practice, fostering collaboration among clinicians, researchers, and stakeholders in health sciences.
