In fulfillment of its national and humanitarian role, and as an extension of its community service mission to promote public health and facilitate access to specialized medical services, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) organized a comprehensive free medical convoy under the patronage and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Acting Director of the Institute and Chairman of its Board of Directors, in cooperation with Yomn Foundation in Warraq. This initiative reflects the Institute’s commitment to harnessing its medical and scientific expertise and resources to serve the community, ease the healthcare burden on citizens, and enhance opportunities for early disease detection.

At a time when scientific research and medical innovation are becoming increasingly important in the fight against cancer, the integration of efforts among research and medical institutions is essential to developing more accurate and effective approaches to diagnosis and treatment, and translating scientific discoveries into practical applications that contribute to improving patients’ lives. In this context, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Acting Director of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) and Chairman of its Board of Directors, the Institute participated in the 4th International Annual Cancer Conference “Diagnosis and Treatment,” hosted by Badr University in Cairo on October 27–28, 2026, with the participation of a distinguished group of scientists, researchers, and specialists from Egypt and various countries around the world.

In a step that reflects Theodor Bilharz Research Institute’s commitment to expanding international scientific cooperation and maximizing the practical impact of its research, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Acting Director of the Institute and Chairman of its Board of Directors, the Institute continues to strengthen its engagement with leading international research, medical, and industrial institutions. This approach supports the exchange of expertise, opens new avenues for developing innovative solutions to health and environmental challenges, and connects scientific research outcomes with the actual needs of society and productive sectors.  

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, the Immunology and Therapeutic Evaluation Division organized a ceremony honoring Prof. Dr. Eman El-Ahwany.

As an important milestone in Egypt’s journey toward eliminating schistosomiasis and strengthening national achievements in public health, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI), under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Acting Director of the Institute and Chairman of its Board of Directors, hosted the official World Health Organization (WHO) verification mission in October 2026. The mission was tasked with assessing whether Egypt has achieved the goal of eliminating schistosomiasis as a public health problem.
