The Microbiology Department offers VIDAS Immunoassay Testing, which allows for a wide range of analyses related to infectious diseases and markers of bacterial infection in the blood (sepsis), using the latest laboratory diagnostic technologies approved by the FDA globally and under the supervision of a select group of professors and consultants in the department.

As part of strengthening cooperation among national institutions and supporting efforts to develop the infrastructure of healthcare and research organizations, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI), represented by Prof.Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Acting Director of the Institute and Chairman of the Board, signed an agreement with Banque Misr, represented by Mr. Hisham Okasha, Chief Executive Officer, to receive a grant designated for supporting the implementation of the first phase of the Institute's electrical power station development project. This initiative aims to enhance infrastructure efficiency and ensure the sustainability of the Institute's research, medical, and training services.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Acting Director and Chairman of the Board of the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, announced that the Journal of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute for Medical Sciences has recently received a rating of 7 in the Supreme Council of Universities' rating system, meaning it has achieved the highest possible score for Egyptian peer-reviewed journals.
