Biography

Name: Hassnaa Ahmed Mahmoud Saleh Present position: Assistant Professor at Environmental Research Department, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute. Research Interests and expertise: • My research at the Environmental Research and Medical Malacology Division focuses on assessing the effect of different chemical pollutants on aquatic organisms in freshwater environments and finding solutions for remediation of these pollutants using biological methods such as algae, bacteria and aquatic plants. • The field works in natural areas for samples collection of soil, water and some snail's vectors, and assessing water quality for environmental pollution assessment through the detection of physical and chemical factors. • Isolation and identification of bacterial strains from water and soil samples where and when needed. • I am interested in investigating the use of freshwater snails as bioindicators for environmental toxicity.
