A Strong Launch for TBRI  2026  Annual Conference… A distinguished  Opening Ceremony

In a scene that reflected significant scientific weight and a well-established research standing, the opening ceremony of TBRI  2026 Annual Conference was launched. The event witnessed the presence of high-level distinguished guests, including leading scientists and specialists, along with wide participation from an elite group of researchers and physicians from Egypt and abroad. The conference embodied the institute’s vision of serving as an integrated scientific platform that combines academic expertise with practical application, while opening new horizons for constructive scientific dialogue. This contributes to supporting the progress of scientific research, enhancing the quality of healthcare, and keeping pace with the rapid developments in various medical specialties.

The ceremony began with a speech by Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdelaziz, Director of the Institute and President of the Conference, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized that the conference comes within the framework of the institute’s commitment to strengthening the integration between scientific research and clinical practice, while creating a stimulating scientific environment that supports innovation and the exchange of expertise.

Professor Dr. Waleed El-Zawawy, Secretary of the Council of Research Centers and Institutes, also delivered a speech praising the institute’s leading role in supporting applied scientific research. He stressed the importance of integration among research institutions to address health challenges and to support the state’s direction toward developing the national research system.

In the same context, Professor Dr. Neama Saeed, Representative of the World Health Organization, highlighted the importance of international cooperation and knowledge exchange. The ceremony also witnessed a remarkable event, as Professor Dr. Tamr Mohamed Abdelaziz, Director of the Biobanks Accreditation Department and an accredited international assessor, representing the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), presented the Biobank Accreditation Certificate to Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdelaziz. This accreditation represents the first official accreditation of a biobank in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa, marking a milestone that reflects the institute’s leadership in adopting the highest quality standards in research activities.

In her speech, she emphasized the importance of applying quality and accreditation standards to support the efficiency of research institutions and enhance the credibility of their scientific outputs.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdelaziz honored the Biobank team, represented by:

Dr. Rawan Mohsen in recognition of their significant efforts that contributed to achieving this accomplishment, affirming that this success reflects the institute’s commitment to applying the highest standards of quality in scientific research.

The ceremony also included a presentation delivered by Dr. Ahmed Abdelaziz highlighting the institute’s origins, its rich history, and the stages of its development, leading to the current phase of modernization and expansion in its research and applied infrastructure. The presentation also outlined the institute’s future vision to support innovation and strengthen its role as a leading research center at both the regional and international levels.

Additionally, the opening ceremony featured a distinguished video presentation titled “TBRI State of the Art Work,” which became one of the highlights of the event. The video professionally showcased the major scientific and research contributions of the institute’s various departments, including:

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Immunology, Parasitology, Pharmacology, Electron Microscopy, Medical Malacology, Environmental Research, Anesthesia, and General Surgery.

The presentation reflected the scale of scientific development within the institute by displaying real examples of research achievements and advanced clinical applications, while emphasizing integration among different disciplines and their role in providing advanced scientific solutions to health challenges.

The concept of the presentation came under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Emad Esmat, Vice President of the Conference. It was executed by the heads of the institute’s departments, while the content was compiled, edited, and refined by the institute’s technical office represented by Prof. Dr. Marwa Tamim and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Attia, in collaboration with the media office represented by Ms. Mai Mohamed Reda and Mr. Ahmed Magdy, along with Dr. Hadeel Hesham from the Pharmacology Department, resulting in a distinguished production that became a notable icon of the opening ceremony.
