General Objective:

To achieve a water knowledge economy that serves Egyptian and Arab societies by translating the results of scientific research into products, and applying the latest scientific methods and methodologies to maximize the benefits of scientific research and innovation in support of the national economy. Additionally, to provide developmental services to achieve economic sustainability in the Arab Republic of Egypt, thereby supporting scientific and technological advancement and a knowledge-based economy.

Objectives of this Partnership at the National Level of the Arab Republic of Egypt:

1.    Translating the outcomes of scientific research and innovation into products and services that support the national economy.

2.    Directing scientific research results toward a knowledge economy.

3.    Finding support and funding for scientific research and innovation.

4.    Building the capacities of young Egyptian researchers and academics.

5.    Providing consultancy programs in various fields related to water and the environment.

6.    Creating a pioneering model that can be replicated across various sectors of the state.

The Two Parties Shall Provide the Necessary Professional and Societal Expertise to Fulfill Their Responsibilities Under This Partnership, Including the Following:

1.    Conducting technical, economic, and environmental feasibility studies for proposed projects.

2.    Forming a professional and societal expert committee to ensure the implementation of the activities of this agreement.

3.    Creating a list of research and scientific study priorities in various fields that serve national projects in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

4.    Discussing the outcomes of the technical, economic, and environmental feasibility studies and identifying the necessary requirements to turn these results into pilot projects.

5.    Establishing external partnerships and agreements with local, regional, and international research, scientific, and industrial institutions to implement and supervise pilot projects.

6.    Acting as a liaison with civil society to ensure that scientific research results serve the community and national projects in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

7.    Organizing and conducting training courses, exhibitions, and capacity-building programs for youth.

8.    Organizing an annual forum in cooperation with international and regional research bodies and donors to present research models, exchange modern technologies, and obtain funding opportunities.

9.    Organizing seminars, workshops, and scientific events related to entrepreneurship and startups on a regular basis.

10. Encouraging and facilitating entrepreneurship and the implementation of projects that contribute to the settlement of youth in new communities, applying the highest environmental standards while considering the societal dimension of these communities.

11. Working to provide green jobs for youth and creating a scientific community in cooperation and partnership with leading global research universities.

12. Marketing the products of this partnership inside and outside the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The two parties will collaborate to secure the necessary funding from local, regional, and international donor entities for implementing scientific outcomes into joint projects. They will also provide a well-equipped location to implement the activities of this agreement, under separate contracts for each activity as needed.

Agreement Duration:

This agreement shall remain in effect for a period of three (3) years from the date of signature. It may be renewed at least three months before its expiration.
