Dr. Walid El-Zawawy Visits Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and Inspects Ongoing Development Work Across Various Departments and Units
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI), received Dr. Walid El-Zawawy, Secretary of the Council of Research Centers, Institutes, and Authorities, during his field visit to the institute, which took place on the sidelines of his attendance at the TBRI Board of Directors meeting.
During the visit, Dr. Abdel Aziz accompanied Dr. El-Zawawy on an extensive tour of several departments and units that have recently undergone comprehensive development. These included the operating theaters and the organ transplantation unit, which has been reopened after undergoing major upgrades aimed at enhancing medical performance and providing advanced therapeutic services. The visit also covered the internal medicine and surgical intensive care units, which have been equipped according to the latest medical systems and technologies to improve operational efficiency and service quality, ensuring the highest standards of healthcare for patients.
Dr. El-Zawawy expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted at the institute and praised the significant progress he observed. He emphasized that Theodor Bilharz Research Institute serves as a model for research institutions that combine scientific excellence with community service. He affirmed that supporting research and medical institutions through continuous development and modernization is a central pillar of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s strategy to enhance the quality of research outputs and improve services provided to the community.
