Egypt Research Network Initiative

In line with the National Policy for Sustainable Innovation, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched the Egypt Research Network (ERN) initiative. The goal is to empower Egyptian startups in advanced technology by providing comprehensive support through a network of national research centers.
 
The Egypt Research Network currently comprises:
• National Research Centre (NRC)  
• Electronics Research Institute (ERI)  
• Central Metallurgical Research & Development Institute (CMRDI)  
• Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI)  
• National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF)
• National Research Institute of Astronomy & Geophysics (NRIAG)  
• National Institute for Standards (NIS)
• Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI)  
• National Authority for Remote Sensing & Space Sciences (NARSS)  
• City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications (SRTA-City)  
• Desert Research Center (DRC)  
 
Services provided by the Network include:
• Free technical, administrative, and legal consulting
• Collaboration on technology transfer and licensing for commercial use
• Incubation support
• Free training programs
• Access to laboratories at reduced cost
• Free hosting with office space
• Registration in the suppliers’ registry for upcoming procurement
• Partnership opportunities for both local and international projects
 
Eligibility Criteria:
Startups must satisfy one of the following:
1. Be Egyptian and a member of an incubator or accelerator,
2. Have secured investment of at least EGP 1 million,
3. Hold a certificate of classification from the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (as soon as it is issued).
