Signing of a Joint Cooperation Protocol between Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and the Faculty of Medicine – Mansoura National University

As part of  the efforts to strengthen scientific and research collaboration between academic institutions and research centers,  Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) has signed a joint cooperation protocol with the Faculty of Medicine – Mansoura National University. The agreement is intended to support research, training, and specialized medical education.

The protocol was signed TBRI by Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Aziz, Acting Director of TBRI, and Prof. Amira Ibrahim Taman, Director of the Medicine and Surgery Program at Mansoura National University, on the sidelines of her participation in the 13th Egyptian–French Forum. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Tarek Diab, Head of the Parasitology Department at TBRI.

Both parties emphasized the importance of synergy between research institutes and universities in fostering innovation and achieving sustainable development in the healthcare and academic sectors.

Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Aziz stated that the agreement represents a significant step toward deepening scientific cooperation with Egyptian universities, noting that the Institute is committed to opening new horizons for joint training and research, as well as for the exchange of expertise—thereby enhancing student competencies and supporting the state’s strategy of aligning scientific research with societal needs.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on clinical training for medical students, joint research projects, and the organization of scientific conferences and workshops. These initiatives aim to upgrade human‐resource capabilities and maximize the use of available resources on both sides.
