Memorandum of Understanding between the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and the Research Institute of Ophthalmology for Research and Training Cooperation
This Memorandum of Understanding aims to foster collaboration between the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and the Research Institute of Ophthalmology in developing a new generation of researchers in the medical and health fields. It seeks to advance scientific progress, while respecting environmental considerations. Theodor Bilharz Research Institute is the largest of its kind in Egypt and the region in the field of scientific research. Both parties possess the necessary training and research resources to achieve this goal and cultivate outstanding young people equipped with specialized knowledge and skills. This collaboration will be based on equality, mutual cooperation, and the exchange of special privileges between the two institutions.
The cooperation between the two parties encompasses all scientific fields of mutual interest, particularly:
First: Joint research projects and initiatives, including organizing health and awareness campaigns in areas surrounding the two institutions and other areas in need. This also includes exchanging expertise and support related to accreditation by the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control (GAHAR).
Second: Organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and scientific meetings on a regular basis in various fields of mutual interest.
Third: Agreeing on the right of researchers from both parties to use the equipment and laboratories provided by both parties equally, including all related financial transactions.
Fourth: Both parties commit to providing intellectual property protection for scientific production, publication, and the distribution of articles and other materials, in accordance with applicable Egyptian laws.
The two parties agreed that this memorandum of understanding shall be valid for one year and shall not be automatically renewed, but rather shall be renewed with the written consent of both parties. No clause of this memorandum may be amended or changed except through a direct written agreement between the two parties, and this agreement shall be implemented after mutual coordination.
