Launch of a New Initiative to Support Women’s Health at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute: A Free Preventive Service for Women Over Forty
In a new step reflecting its ongoing commitment to institutional responsibility and comprehensive employee care, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute has announced the launch of a distinguished health initiative aimed at supporting the health of female employees over the age of forty. The initiative offers a fully integrated free preventive service through the Clinical Nutrition Unit.
The initiative is sponsored by Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Aziz, Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors, who emphasized that attention to preventive healthcare—especially at life stages requiring careful monitoring—is an essential part of the institute’s institutional development strategy. This strategy extends beyond research and scientific excellence to include the support of human capital as the most important pillar of the work system. He further explained that the initiative reflects a clear administrative vision that places employees’ health and quality of life among the institution’s top priorities, based on the firm belief that a healthy work environment is a true foundation for productivity, excellence, and sustainability.
The initiative includes the provision of free samples of a medication that supports women’s health during this stage of life, generously donated by Minapharm Pharmaceuticals, within the framework of constructive cooperation between research institutions and the pharmaceutical sector in service of the community.
The service is delivered through the Clinical Nutrition Unit under the supervision of Dr. Marwa Abdel Ghany, Deputy Supervisor of the Clinical Nutrition Unit, and includes:
• An initial nutritional and medical assessment
• Determining the suitability of the medication for each case according to medical history
• Medical and nutritional follow-up during the period of use to ensure the best possible outcomes.
The institute’s administration confirms that the distribution of samples is carried out based on a specialized medical evaluation and under full medical supervision within the clinic, ensuring the highest levels of safety and quality in service delivery. The service is available to female employees of the institute for a limited period, subject to sample availability.
This step embodies the institute’s continued commitment to supporting the health of its employees and its orientation toward building an integrated internal care system. It also reflects its dedication to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that addresses diverse health needs, while particularly affirming its appreciation for the role of working women and their vital contribution to advancing the institute’s research and medical mission.
