MOU with the National Liver Institute – Menoufia University
Objective of the Memorandum of Understanding
This Memorandum of Understanding aims to establish cooperation between the National Liver Institute – Menoufia University and Theodor Bilharz Research Institute in creating a new generation of researchers in medical and health fields, who pursue scientific advancement without compromising environmental elements. Theodor Bilharz Research Institute is considered the largest of its kind in Egypt and the region in the field of scientific research.
Fields of Mutual Cooperation
The cooperation between the two parties shall cover all scientific fields of mutual interest, particularly:
- Joint research and scientific projects.
- Exchange of scientists and experts, especially in the field of liver transplantation.
- Postgraduate student training.
Training course certificates shall be granted in accordance with the university's applicable regulations. - Organizing health and awareness convoys for surrounding areas.
- Exchange of expertise and support regarding the accreditation of the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR).
- All other forms of cooperation as may be agreed upon later between the two parties.
Exchange of Experts
Faculty members of the National Liver Institute may participate in research and scientific activities at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, and vice versa. This is subject to the need of either party and the approval of the competent authority.
Each party shall treat the members of the other party as their own with respect to rights and duties in all aspects, except financial entitlements.
Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Scientific Meetings, and Awareness Campaigns
The two parties agreed to organize conferences, seminars, workshops, and scientific meetings periodically in various fields of mutual interest.
They also agreed to jointly organize health and awareness convoys.
Reciprocal Treatment
- Faculty members, assistant staff, research students, and equivalent personnel at the National Liver Institute shall be treated as their counterparts at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute in terms of work benefits, use of equipment and laboratories, including financial aspects related to those services.
- Likewise, research staff, assistant researchers, research assistants, specialists, contractors, assigned personnel, and equivalent personnel at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute shall be treated as their counterparts at the National Liver Institute in terms of access to labs, services, and related benefits.
