Theodor Bilharz Research Institute Enhances Scientific Collaboration with Germany by Hosting a High-Level Delegation from the German Embassy

In a significant step towards strengthening international academic and scientific cooperation, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) welcomed a delegation from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. The delegation included Ms. Lorena Moor, First Secretary and Head of the Science Department and Chief of Protocol, and Ms. Maha Wissa, Cultural Affairs Officer. They were received by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abbas Shamis, Director of the Institute and Chairman of the Board.

Cooperation Protocol with the Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University – Girls Branch

The two parties agreed on the following possibilities: • Training of female students in the specified fields according to the institute’s specializations in all departments, with the following categories: • Female students of the Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University – Girls Branch • Graduates of the Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University – Girls Branch • Faculty members and their assistants in the departments of the Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University – Girls Branch Each party shall appoint a general supervisor for the training process at the beginning of the training period, one from each side.

MOU with Kanazawa University

The purpose of this MoU is to promote the cooperation and development of academic, scientific and clinical research capabilities through exchanging expertise between Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI), Egypt and Sapiens Life Sciences, Evolution and Medicine Research Center (Sapiens LEM), Kanazawa University, Japan.

Cooperation protocol with City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications

The two parties agreed to cooperate in the following areas: • Developing the production of diagnostic materials and vaccines for liver diseases due to parasitic infections. • Establishing a partnership that contributes to achieving sustainable development in implementation of Egypt's 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy. • Cooperation in the fields of creativity, innovation, commercialization and promotion of each other's activities. • Scientific training and academic cooperation. • Exchange of technical information and scientific visits. • Organizing and supporting scientific meetings, conferences and workshops.

MOU with Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology

Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology (SEU) and Theodor Bilharz research institute (TBRI) affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, in contribution to increased co-operation between them in the medical field in general and with the Faculty of Healthcare at SEU in particular, agree to implement, within the framework of the regulations applying in each of the institutions and subject to the availability of resources, the following programs and activities: (i) Internships for SEU students (Faculty of Healthcare) at TBRI.
