In a step that reflects the depth of scientific relations between Egypt and China, and as a continuation of a joint cooperation that has already yielded promising research achievements, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) and Wuhan University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at renewing and deepening their academic and research collaboration. The agreement was signed by Prof. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of TBRI, and Prof. Youfeng Yuan, Vice President of Wuhan University, reaffirming both parties’ commitment to expanding cooperation in fields of mutual interest and unifying efforts to confront health challenges, foremost among them the fight against endemic diseases that pose a threat to public health in many developing countries.

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI), received Dr. Walid El-Zawawy, Secretary of the Council of Research Centers, Institutes, and Authorities, during his field visit to the institute, which took place on the sidelines of his attendance at the TBRI Board of Directors meeting. During the visit, Dr. Abdel Aziz accompanied Dr. El-Zawawy on an extensive tour of several departments and units that have recently undergone comprehensive development. These included the operating theaters and the organ transplantation unit, which has been reopened after undergoing major upgrades aimed at enhancing medical performance and providing advanced therapeutic services. The visit also covered the internal medicine and surgical intensive care units, which have been equipped according to the latest medical systems and technologies to improve operational efficiency and service quality, ensuring the highest standards of healthcare for patients.
