The memorandum of understanding aims to involve Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and Badr University in working to create a new generation of researchers in the medical and health fields who seek scientific progress without compromising environmental elements. Theodor Bilharz Research Institute is the largest of its kind in Egypt and the region in the field of scientific research, and the training and research tools available to both parties to achieve this goal and qualify outstanding young people who are familiar with the objectives of specialized knowledge and skills within a framework of equality, joint cooperation, and the exchange of special privileges between the two parties.

In a scientific achievement that adds to the record of research successes of  Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, the Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority has approved a patent submitted to the Patent Office, funded by the Science, Technology, and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF), in the field of producing genetically engineered therapeutic proteins using biotechnology.
