ب‌- تعريف وتحديد و تحضير الأنتيجينات الموجهة للطفيليات المختلفة ذات الأهمية الطبية واستخدامهم في كل من التشخيص والعلاج
جـ – تقييم العقاقير المدخلة حديثا والمستخلصات النباتية المنقاة كمواد مضادة للطفيليات
د- تطبيق التقنيات الجزيئية المدخلة حديثاً في تشخيص الأمراض الطفيلية المتوطنة

الخدمات:

– الفحص الميكروسكوبي الروتيني لعينات البول والبراز للإستدلال على الإصابة بالطفيليات

– إدخال تقنيات حديثة لفحص البراز مثل تقنية الباراسيب المركز لعينات البراز وتشمل:

      • تشخيص وتعريف الكائنات الأولية المتطفلة في عينات البراز باستخدام الأصباغ المختلفة
      • استخدام طرائق الصبغ الخاصة أوالأوساط الغذائية للكشف عن الأوليات الغير دارجة

– إجراء المسح الحقلي باستخدام تقنيات الفحص الطفيلي المتخصصة مثل الترشيح النيوكليوبوري لعينات البول للإستدلال على بويضات الشيستوسوما الدموية، تقنية الكاتو والنجروسين للإستدلال على بويضات الطفيليات المختلفة في عينات البراز

– تشخيص الإصابة بالطفيليات والحيوانات الأولية في عينات البراز باستخدام التحليل المناعي الطفيلي، حيث قام القسم بتحضير تحاليل و إدخال أدوات جديدة للتشخيص مثل:

      • الإليزا لرصد الأنتيجينات الطفيلية السابحة في سيروم المريض والأنيجينات الكوبرو في براز المريض
      • تطبيق طريقة متحورة لتحضير الشرائح من أجل تعريف أفضل وأوضح للطفيليات

– الفحص الطفيلي الدوري للعاملين بالأقسام المختلفة خاصةً أولئك المعرضون للتلوث بالمواد البيولوجية

العمل البحثي:

أ‌- طرق فحص طفيلي معياري لقياس شدة الإصابة بالشيستوسوما وتشمل:

      • عمل إرواء لكل من كبد و أمعاء الفئران المعدية لإحصاء عدد الديدان الموجودة بهذه الفئران
      • عد البويضات في أنسجة الكبد والأمعاء
      • النمط الأووجرامي (عد مراحل النمو المختلفة لبويضات الطفيليات في الأمعاء الدقيقة)

ب‌- تعريف وتحديد وتحضير الأنتيجينات الموجهة للطفيليات المختلفة ذات الأهمية الطبية باستخدام الأدوات البيولوجية الجزيئية و تطبيق ذلك في:

      • تطوير أدوات بسيطة وحساسة وأقل في الوقت وأرخص في السعر باستخدام تقنية النانو لتشخيص أنواع الطفيليات المختلفة (مثل الإليزا المغطاة بالأنتيجينات المختلفة) (إختبار المسح)
      • إنتاج أجسام مضادة متخصصة وذات حساسية عالية ضد هذه الأنتيجينات المستهدفة باستخدام تقنية عرض اللاقمات و تطبيق ذلك في الأدوات التشخيصية
      • تطوير العقاقير
      • إنتاج جسيمات نانوية كنظام توصيل للدواء من أجل استهداف الأمراض الطفيلية
      •  تطوير أداة تشخيصية سريعة من الأرانب على شكل شرائط للمسح الحقلي لرصد الأنتيجينات الكوبرو للطفيليات المختلفة (الشيستوسوما والفاشيولا)، ويمكن تطبيقها على المستوى التجاري

جـ- وحدة زراعة أنسجة يمكن استخدامها في:

      •  زراعة الطفيليات داخل الأنسجة لأغراض الدراسات المناعية
      • عمل دورة حياة كاملة لبعض الطفيليات والحيوانات الأولية (الشيستوسوما، التوكسوبلازما، الكريبتوسبوريديوم، البلاستوسيستيس)، وإنتاج الأنتيجينات المستهدفة والمواد البيولوجية المفرزة من هذه الطفيليات
      • تقييم الكفاءة الضد طفيلية للأدوية المدخلة حديثاً والمستخلصات النباتية بالإضافة للأدوية التقليدية سواء بمفردها أو مقترنة مع العوامل المضادة للإلتهاب والتليف
      • تقييم اللقاحات المختلفة ضد الطفيليات

يتكون القسم من معملين بحثيين ومعمل إكلينيكي بالعيادات الخارجية بالمستشفى، هذه المعامل مجهزة بالإمكانيات الأساسية للفحص الطفيلي وتضم الآتي: جهاز تعقيم، نظام تطهير للمياه، حمام مائي، نظام إرواء، موازين، جهاز طرد مركزي، جهاز بي سي آر، جهاز فحص مطيافي بالأشعة تحت الحمراء، جهاز فصل كهربائي، إيميونوبلوت، ميكرسكوب ضوئي ثنائي الأعين، ميكرسكوب رقمي، ميكروسكوب فلورسي، ميكروسكوب ستريو، حضان ثاني أكسيد الكربون، و إلكتروبوراتور.    


  • برنامج تدريب سنوي لطاقم القسم الذي يقوم بتشخيص الأمراض الطفيلية
  • برنامج تدريبي في معمل الطفيليات بالعيادات الخارجية لطلبة كليات الطب والعلوم
  • تدريس منهج الطفيليات لطالبات مدرسة ومعهد التمريض بالمعهد

 تقوم سياسة القسم على تحليل عينات البول والبراز في المرضى باستخدام التقنيات الطفيلية المختلفة و كذلك إجراء تحليلات إحصائية شهرية للبيانات.

تركز خدمات القسم على:

  • الأمراض المعدية المعوية، عدوى الجهاز البولي، بعض الطفيليات التي توجد في مجرى الدم ( مثل التوكسوبلازما)، الحمى مجهولة المصدر، العدوى الطفيلية التي تعقب العمليات الجراحية بالإضافة للعدوى المرتبطة بنقص المناعة في مرضى الكبد و الكلى المزمن.
  • رصد كفاءة الأدوية ونشوء الأنواع المقاومة للأدوية (السلالات) في كل من الشيستوسوما والفاشيولا و الحيوانات الأولية مثل الإنتاميبا.
